The Power of Agreement

By Pastor Jadira Garcia

Jesus clearly established the importance of agreement in our lives. In Matthew 18:19, He said:"Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven."

The power of agreement is a spiritual tool that opens doors and brings abundant blessings. In the context of marriage in Christ, this principle becomes even more powerful because a couple can live in unity and agreement in three areas: spirit, soul, and body.

1. Spiritual Agreement in MarriageWhen two people in a marriage seek first the Kingdom of God, as children of the Kingdom, this must be the first agreement in their relationship. Placing God at the center of all decisions and circumstances is essential. By surrendering our lives to His will, we allow the Lord to guide every aspect of our union.

Spiritual agreement means that both spouses seek God together, in prayer, worship, and studying His Word. In this type of unity, what they ask according to His will shall be done by the Father.

2. Submission to the Holy SpiritThe Holy Spirit must be the one guiding the marriage because in Him we find wisdom, direction, and peace. When a couple submits to the Holy Spirit, they are willing to listen to His voice and be obedient to His guidance. This means that every step, every decision, and every challenge in married life is faced with confidence in the power of the Spirit.

3. Aligning with the Word of the LordAgreement is also strengthened when both spouses decide to live according to God's Word. It’s not just about reading the Bible but also applying it in daily life. This involves forgiving one another, supporting each other during difficult times, and being faithful to the principles that God has established for marriage.

The Result of AgreementLiving in spiritual agreement, guided by the Holy Spirit and aligned with the Word of the Lord, leads to a blessed marriage. Such a marriage not only thrives but also reflects Christ’s love for His Church. Couples who walk in this level of unity and agreement can experience God's favor in everything they do.

Remember, what the Lord has joined together, let no man separate. So let us always seek that agreement which glorifies God in our relationships.

Be blessed, Pastor Jadira Garcia
