What to do in the midst of the storm?

1. Seek God with confidence

When the disciples were in the boat and the storm arose, Jesus was there, although asleep. They woke Him up in fear, but He asked them:

“Why are you afraid, you of little faith?”

— Matthew 8:26

👉 This teaches us that faith is the key to getting through the storm. Even if Jesus seems silent, He is present.

2. Pray and cry out with sincerity

The psalmist said:

“I cried to the Lord in my trouble, and He answered me.”

— Psalm 120:1

💡 In the midst of the storm, do not remain silent. Pray with sincerity. God is not impressed by pretty words, but by a broken and sincere heart.

3. Don't be driven by fear

Fear paralyzes, but faith moves you forward. Isaiah 41:10 says:

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I strengthen you.”

🙌 The Word reminds you that God holds you with His right hand. In the storm, you are not alone.

4. Remain steadfast and obedient

Sometimes we want to run away or give up, but God's advice is:

“Be still, and know that I am God.”

— Psalm 46:10

✋ Stop. Breathe. Don't make impulsive decisions. The storm will pass.

5. Remember that God uses the storm to teach you something

Every trial has a purpose. In the story of Jonah, God used a great storm to redirect his path.

“The Lord had sent a great wind to the sea…”

— Jonah 1:4

📌 Sometimes, the storm isn't meant to destroy you, but to correct, protect, or prepare you.

✨ Conclusion

God never promised that storms wouldn't come, but He did promise that He would be with you through them. As Isaiah 43:2 says:

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you.”

🙏 Short Prayer

“Lord, in the midst of my storm, I choose to trust in You. Even though I don't see the sun, I believe You are working. Strengthen my faith, calm my heart, and help me see Your hand in the midst of everything. Amen.”
